Hello Everyone, For the first time, this site is going to sound a little like a BLOG. Sorry about that! Big news: We are moving from Ragon Hall to our 100% OWN facility. Our new location is 1707 West Fairfield Avenue, Pensacola, FL. The building is being renovated and brought up to code, which has turned out to be quite an undertaking. Here are some points about the place: Most importantly, it’s ours! We can hold dances as often as attendance will warrant. The building is 1.1 miles west of I-110, on Fairfield Avenue (FL 295), south side of the street, directly across from Wendy's. The building is also 0.2 miles east of Pace Boulevard on Fairfield Avenue (FL 295), south side of street, directly across from Wendy's. The dance floor will be approximately 43 feet by 63 feet. Ragon Hall’s floor (minus tables, chairs, stage, etc.) is about 50 feet by 55 feet. We have decided to install a real wood floor over a cork underlay, which we believe will provide the correct amount of cushioning for a pleasant dance experience. It will NOT be an engineered wood or a laminate! There is paved parking with approximately 50 spaces behind the building and inside a fenced lot. Entry for dances will be at the rear of the building within the parking lot. The music, which we consider the best in the area, will be the same as it has been for years. The sound system will be as good or better than we had at Ragon Hall. Some major benchmarks toward completion: (We will mark these as done on this site as they happen.) Sprinkler system -DONE!! Entrance and emergency exit doors - DONE!! Parking lot fencing - DONE!! Fire alarm, emergency lights and signage - DONE!! Ceiling tiles - partially done Rest rooms remodeled and other plumbing - DONE!! Interior & exterior painting - in progress Dance floor - subflooring laid, wood for floor in building Sound system We have discontinued dances at Ragon Hall and hope to hold dances at the new location late March or early April. Check back frequently for updates and an eventual announcement of our first dance. Those of you who have provided email addresses will also be notified via email. |
